Kinship Seeds centers the host plant ecology of native seeds with the more than human organisms entangled with the plants. All seeds are for plants native to the Northeast American bioregion and each pack is an original block print.

The cover drawing is from a photo in my mind’s eye, something I remembered reading about.
There had been a story somewhere about war refugees in Idomeni, Greece creating a "pretend" refugee news station. This station was created in the camps because of the absence of media covering the catastrophe. Refugees used boxes and improvised devices as pretend cameras.
The poem inside this handmade book draws a line connecting violence within the US borders to wars abroad. It’s about the effects of disaster and violence on the way humans experience time, and the ability of all forms of language to mean and have capital in crisis.

This book, with a handmade cast of a shoe, began as project to chronicle a trash bag full of old clothes. I wondered in what ways the clothes my family had worn marked us with their distant making. I tried to memorialize the labor of and lives human beings involved in their manufacture and the catastrophes of globalized capitalism. I tried to depict a partial story in drawings and poem text.

The book /poem"Close Drawings" imagines the people who made the clothes my family wore and disposed of, and the context of garment industry work.
